The Partygoers: December's Play! By Sephora Box
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s the last Sephora Box of the year and it’s great. Full of products I love or have been dying to try. I’m definitely keeping this subscription up and several of these products are on my favorites list. (And check out the previous boxes here.) Let’s get started!
Product: SEPHORA COLLECTION Cream Lip Stain in Always Red, $14
Description: This best selling, high-coverage lip color glides on smooth and transforms from a creamy texture into a silky, lightweight stain. Infused with avocado oil, the long-lasting formula delivers rich color that feels comfortable, is never sticky, and won’t dry out lips.
My Take: This was my first red and first matte lipstick. And I ended up wearing it everyday for like 3 months. It’s that classic red shade and it’s a very long lasting formula. It’s drying so definitely check out my post on how to combat that!
Product: MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer, $37
Description: Perfect for balancing skin and achieving an ideal makeup result, it’s lightweight and creamy, leaving a more evenly-toned appearance, and increases foundation's hold. This primer for all skintones leaves makeup looking fresh for hours while it hydrates, firms, and smooths the look of the skin.
My Take: This is a great mattifying primer. It gets very smooth and powdery like NYX’s Angel veil, but more intense and it blends out less ashy than Angel Viel. Another high-end product I’m going to fall in love with I see!
Product: Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
Description: It actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to keep foundation, eyeshadow, blush, and concealer in place—even in hot and humid or cold and windy conditions. The result? Smoother-looking skin and vibrant makeup that lasts all day (or night) without melting, cracking, fading, or settling into fine lines.
My Take: I’ve been wanting to try this forever! I’ve been trying other setting sprays instead of this one because it was a bit pricey. But those are running out, so this sample is right on time!
Product: Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo, $23
Description: It absorbs oils, impurities, and odor while providing body and fullness, leaving hair feeling fresh and clean. Lightweight and easy to use, the micro powder blends in perfectly with hair color, leaving no white residue behind.
My Take: Womp. I don’t use normal shampoo and the last thing I need is dry shampoo. Dry Shampoo is great for a quick weave touch-up tho.
Product: Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, $30
Description: This creamy, kohl-pigmented mascara builds volume lash by lash, as opposed to traditional volumizing formulas that create the appearance of volume by clumping lashes together. The result is thicker, longer, bolder lashes in an instant—the perfect complement to any eye look.
My Take: This is my first ever Bobbi Brown product and I love me some mascara!
Product: Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon, $85
Description: Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon is a provocative blend of sultry vanilla bourbon, oakwood, and a hint of tuberose for a bold, oriental-woody scent with intoxicating confidence. Notes: Vanilla Bourbon. Oakwood. Tuberose. Style: Passionate. Unpredictable. Provocative.
My Take: Another scent I like. It’s vanilla-y and oaky, but not musky or too sweet. It has a bit dark and masculine undertone, but the femininity takes over. It’s a unique scent I really like.
