I'll be honest guys. I haven't done my hair in about 6 days. I did a twist and curl last week and just have been too lazy to do anything else. But really, I'm kind of tired of my hair. No no no. I love my curls and my tightly coiled afro-textured tresses and shan't be returning to the creamy crack. But I'm just tired of twisting it and it shrinking into an afro after three days. I'm tired of resetting it, and moisturizing it, and steaming it and blah, blah, blah. However, mostly I'm tired of the length. I miss my hair having length. (Even though I am very glad I got my thickness back!)
For a while now, I've wanted to try out a natural hair wig. I want to protect my hair from the changing weather, and let it grow out a bit more. So I did a youtube search for natural hair wigs and found TwinGoddesses slaying some natural hair wigs and pieces on thier channel! (Oddly enough, I couldn't find a lot of high-quality natural hair wig tutorials.) But this led me to back to why I love natural hair so much. Because it is really easy to create new styles. Even with just a few inches of curly goodness in your TWA.
So if you are bored with your TWA and don't mind add in some hair pieces, here are three easy tutorials from TwinGoddesses.
The Marley Hair Wig
This idea is so easy, I'm kind of upset I didn't think of it first! I used to slay a drawstring ponytail in the days before it could be documented on IG. This video shows how to apply and wear this curly drawstring ponytail so natural, people will think that hair is alllll yours.
The Drawstring Puff
I'm buying this wig. Idc idc idc. I'm going to comb it out, curl it and finally get that crochet look that I've been going for. The only thing I wish it had, was a better defined part.
The Afro Straight Wig
Occasionally, I miss straight hair. And pincurling my front swoop. Again, I killed the front swoop game. Ask about me! While this wig isn't of theeee upmost quality, I like the look of the unit's afro straight hair. If I wasn't so afraid to straighten my hair, I'd have a similar texture to this hair.
