Top of the morning! (or ehhh afternoon) London Fashion Week doesn't the acclaim that New York or Paris' does, but hidden in the rainy capital of England are some true gems. With an eye for color and the flair for the dramatics, London Fashion Week continues to capture my attention. Picking just five designers was a challenge but here we go! Duro Olowu is an amazing Nigerian designer based in London. He became popular in America after Michelle Obama begun wearing his pieces. Not long after he formed a collaboration with JCPenney. His fashions are authentically African inspired with an edge. Cool prints and unexpected styling will keep this designer going strong!
I love Temperley London. it very feminine and well put together without being stuffy and too prim and proper. This season in particular has very interesting prints and textures.
Preen is one of my new favorites. Always very interesting silhouettes and again an excellent color story. One of my twitter friends and I were joking about a Target X Preen collaboration. Or were we...
A staple in London fashion, Burberry's every evolving, yet timeless classic clothing is what herald fashion houses need to be aspiring to. Known for its classic plaid and tan trench coats, season after season Burberry continues to push out strong color story and updated trenches.
"Spent all my euros on tuxes and weird clothes..." Yes. You are obligated to sing Jay Z's "Tom Ford" while reading this. Even before he was Jay Z's designer of choice, Tom Ford has been captivating the masses of both the men and women of Earth. His tuxedo scream "Grown Man, while his dresses scream "Va Va Voom!" And this season is no different.
Overall this fashion week held my attention a bit more than New York's. The styles seemed fresher. Colors more vibrant. Silhouettes more creative.
What did you think about #LFW? Do you need a break? Too bad! It's off to Milan on Thursday!
