Mademoiselle's Style Tips: Wedding Edition Part One

Recently I have had an influx of people asking what to weddings. With a few weddings coming up on my own schedule, I decided to share of my style tips for weddings. First off,  all white (cream, ivory, off-white, etc.) dresses are off-limits unless expressly approved by the bride. Just don't do it. And avoid black (unless those are her colors). It's a celebration (hopefully), wear happy colors and prints!

Dresses: For daytime events, try fit and flare, shift and fitted silhouettes in solid pastel shades, soft prints and florals. You want to be respectful (no matter how wild the after party might be) so avoid the extremes: tight fits, low cuts, excessive cutouts, etc. You know what I mean. Keep it classy.

Shoes: At events like this why not let your shoes do the walking and the talking! It's easy to reach for your usual pair of pumps or wedges, but why not step outside the usual and start a foreign love affair. If you normally go for the platforms, try a single sole. If you like the comfort of wedges, try a chunky heel.

Accessories: Identify your skin undertone (warm, cool, neutral) and pick out metallic jewelry that complements your features. If your shoes or dress is the attention getter, tone down the accessories. Try studs, thin necklaces and bracelets. If not try chunky baubles, pearls, bracelets, etc. But still keep it cute: don't over accessorize.

Now that you have all these piece. How do you out them together?! Stay tuned for Part Two where I'll show you how to style three different wedding looks!
