Isabel. Marant. For. H&M. As a serious lover of Parisian fashion and die hard fan of designer collaborations, I'm pretty sure this collaboration is my nirvana. If you are not familiar with Mlle. Marant, picture that effortlessly cool and impeccably chic French foreign exchange student you met in college. She wears Isabel Marant. And I want to be like her. But until I can speak fluent French and stroll along Rue Cambon, I can at least pretend while I'm waiting on the train.
Isabel Marant is best known for her wedge sneakers. Celebs like Alicia Keys, Tracee Ross and even the Queen B (Beyonce) in her "Love On Top" video wore the sneakers. While her popularity shot up after the introduction of everyone's favorite heel/sneaker combination, her clothing is superb as well and that's what I'm most excited about. However, one of the downfalls for H&M (and other mass retailers) collaborations is low quality and high cost. The Margiela for H&M line was overpriced (and a bit obscure) and the quality for Lanvin for H&M line was a bit low. After the #Holiday24 debacle, hopefully H&M will have this together. Decent quality at a decent price. Marant is also using this line to explore men's and children's wear. So grab your hubby and your kids and head out to H&M on November 14th. I'll already be in line =) If you just can't wait, you can check her promotional video here.
