Who knew that this weird fashion season, in-between Spring and Fall, called "Resort" is such as cash cow? According to the Wall Street Journal, Resort has the "particular advantage of a selling period that can stretch from late October until June, encompassing high-volume holiday-shopping periods, and is marked down at the same time as spring runway clothes." With this being said, one would think more designers (especially in the struggling luxury market) would pay more attention to this off-season. Nevertheless, I have amassed my favorites from Resort 2014. Chanel
Chanel is so hit or miss to me. I think I am more fond of vintage Chanel than modern Chanel. But all of these looks are so sophisticated and "Chanel-esque": easy, flowy and luxurious.
Oscar De La Renta
Oscar De La Renta is one of my favorite American designers. He skews more European than American and who doesn't love Oscar PR Girl! His clothing is always so flirty, classy and fun and styling is spot on. I especially love the light pink jacket and the silhouette of the navy printed dress.
Fun fact: On my 18th birthday I worked a Lela Rose show in D.C. and meet her after the show! From then on I loved her artistic and airy aesthetic. I would be mostly liked to wear these dresses.
ICYMI, I LOVE Jason Wu. He is young, modern and cool. He's one of the younger designs who's aesthetic is ladylike and but not old-fashioned. Hopefully he can help revitalize Boss Woman. The first looks reminds me of my favorite blogger Karla Deras. Kerry Washington wore the second look to the CFDA Awards. I love the back of the dress but wasn't to crazy about it on Washington.
Lanvin is also very hit or miss to me, but these resort pictures are just so artistically shot. I love the rich color, drama and attention to detail. This is what fashion is about. What are your favorites from Resort 2014?
